Business Launch Readiness Checklist
Big plans start with understanding the next step. These seven checkpoints offer a general starting point—not a determination that your business is ready, eligible, or compliant.
A clearer starting point
0 / 7 reviewedOutline what the business will do, who will participate, and the state where it will operate. Activities and locations can affect requirements.
Read your state's official guidance on LLCs, corporations, and nonprofits. Ask an independent attorney or tax professional about legal and tax consequences; this guide does not recommend a structure.
Use the official state registry to check name rules and availability. Consider separate trademark questions with a qualified professional; state name availability does not establish trademark rights.
Review the relevant state's resident or registered-agent rules and arrange an eligible agent and address. Kansas requires a physical street office, not a P.O. box or virtual PMB. Brixen’s separate Kansas resident-agent offering is proposed; appointments are not available.
Identify required formation documents and official agency fees. Before authorizing administrative help, review a written scope and separately itemized assistance fees. This website does not accept filings.
Check whether you need an EIN and whether the business already has one; not every single-member LLC requires its own. IRS issuance is free. Any third-party assistance requires proper authorization and the true responsible party, never a representative substitution. Do not enter taxpayer information here. Check permits, licenses and tax requirements with official agencies or professionals. An EIN does not grant 501(c)(3) status.
EIN Guidance & AssistanceKeep agency confirmations, governing documents, and a calendar of applicable report deadlines. Any future Brixen monitoring subscription would be optional and separately approved; none is active and there is no automatic enrollment.
