EIN Guidance & Assistance

A business ID. A clearer next step.

An Employer Identification Number (EIN) identifies a business for federal tax administration. Start with official IRS guidance and check whether your business needs an EIN.

Two paths. Your choice.

The IRS issues EINs for free.

Direct official path

Apply directly with IRS — $0

IRS EIN issuance has no fee. Review the official requirements and available application methods. You do not need to use or pay Brixen to access the IRS.

Administrative option

Optional Brixen administrative assistance

A future scope could include organizing an authorized EIN document packet and coordinating permitted administrative steps. Assistance fees would be separate from free IRS issuance, explicitly agreed in writing. Start with a scope review by email.

First, check what you actually need.

An EIN is commonly used for employees, certain entity types, and business banking or records requirements. Not every single-member LLC requires its own EIN. Check whether the business already has one before applying; consult IRS guidance and a qualified tax professional for your circumstances.

Authorization is not a substitution.

The true responsible party must be identified. A representative must never be substituted as responsible party. Third-party assistance requires proper client authorization and compliance with IRS designee rules. Forms may require confidential taxpayer information: never enter that information, SSNs or IDs on this website.
